Removing Road Tar/Grime
Hey Guys:
Was washing the truck today and noticed a lot of road tar on the paint, nerf bars (chrome Westin's), and the air dam in the front.
What do you guys use to remove it? Keep in mind the surfaces I mentioned above...a different method for each would be great!
Thanks!
Joshua

i use the bug and tar remover from turtle wax. you spray it on let it sit for a min or two and wipe away and then buff. it gives a good wax tone too so its good for after or before you put a wax job on or just after you wash the truck. its good for all paints, clear coats, plastics, etc...

baby oil.
wipe some on, leave some newspaper or rags underneath and leave overnight. rags/paper will catch all the tar/oil runoff and wont stain concrete.

Look at the contents of that bug and tar remover, smell it too....
I use the cheapest Mineral Spirits I can buy, usually about a buck a gallon. Works great. Apply/scrub with a scratchless spunge/scrubber thingy. Looks like a small sponge wrapped in a fish net. Does not scratch period and makes quick work out of bugs. Sponge is around a buck too...
