Removing rear seat?

Anyone removed their rear seat? I have never had a passenger back there and don't really see it happening any time soon. I was thinking of removing it and maybe building some storage and a flat floor or something.

Yeah, remove the bolts in the floor bracket and pull up on the seat back as you remove it as there are hooks on the seat back to slots in the cab wall.

The rear seat has alot to do with interior sound levels... There's NO sound deadening on the rear wall of the cab... You'll hate it, so plan accordingly..

back wall noise

I took the seat out and used Dynamat on the back of the cab. Great stuff, cab quit as a church mouse. I also used some on the firewall and hood. Now it just sounds strong and mean.

rear seat.

Yes I removed mine in 2000 some time and have been very glad that it's gone since. Who wants peoples dirty feet on the carpet anyway. My shoulders didn't fit to well. What a waste of 8 to 10 " of space, I also removed the seatbelts as well as their brackets. I looked at the back wall of the truck and in the poor quality maintence book and the two walls looked the same so ordered a back wall panel and put the silvered bubble insulation that they use for around water tanks as sound and thermal insulation the 3 ft wide one. I drilled some 1/8 " holes in the upper wall cross bracket and used 4 S/S 1"#10's with good S/S fender washers ( I love stainless steel ) for anything non structual.
