Removing bed today........

I am going to remove the bed on my truck today to replace it with a much straighter bed. So just trying to get a handle on all things that need to be removed.......

Remove tail gate

6 mounting bolts.

Electrical plugs at the tail lights and license plate bulb

Fuel filler neck

Anything else??

I did one recently... I think it was 8 bolts, ground strap, light harness, filler neck and return line. I know that there were two sets of bolts on the back, if there is only one on the front, then there are only 6. The ground strap should be on the passenger side where the bed and the cab meet.

Really easy... after you think you have it all disconnected, lay on the ground and push up with your legs, or, if you have a few people, lift it up and make sure nothing is still hooked up.

spare tire tube goes thru the bed/plastic piece, so take care, slide it back first before going up

Very good advice. I got a piece of metal in my eye twice because of that, although not from removing the bed.
