Removing 6" Lift on '93

I'm seriously thinking about removing the Skyjacker 6" lift on this truck, as well as the 16.5 Warn winch. The guy I bought the truck from gave me all four original leaf springs and original wheels. How big of a deal would it be to get this truck back to stock. Did the lift use original bracketery, or were different brackets welded/bolted on in place of the stock stuff? Anybody with experience with this, I would appreciate the input.
Thanks,
Bill

I doubt there are different brackets, however you might have a dropped pitman arm. It does not look like you have crossover steering from this angle.

I will gladly take your lift and winch off your hands. Heck, I'll even pay shipping!

Clean looking truck

If I could find someone to put it back to original, I'd give them the lift kit. The winch I'd have to have a little extra for, along with the tires and wheels. It also has a RW Products four guage cluster that conforms to the dash that has to go, too. (tack, pyrometer, manifold pressure, and oil temp.) Thanks for the info. Bill

Why are you going to take the gauges out?

Bill,
The engine is bone stock (as well as the rest of the drivetrain), so I just don't feel they're necessary, plus they stick up off the dash...just don't look good. I'm wanting to return the truck to stock, just like it rolled off the showroom floor. The drivetrain, interior, even the paint are original and in excellent condition. I'd like to return the rest of the truck to stock/original condition.
Thanks,
Bill

I put a 6" skyjacker kit on my old gasser and there were no modifications just bolted right up so going back should be no problem. Are there holes in the dash from the gauge pod?

Bill,
I don't know for sure, it looks like they used 2 sided tape. If they did drill the dash, the guages might have to stay.

There is going to be a hole in the dash for all the wires to go through, probably one big hole

and that gauge cluster that conforms to the dash is really rare to find these days, make sure you save it and sell it. They haven't made them in years

I'd have to do some checking, but it will be reasonable. It's brand new, never used, just put on for looks.

Yea, I was eyeballin' that winch too. And your integrated brush guard in front. Like how it goes together with the stock bumper. Looks like a deer would destroy it, but good for branches and some protection. Those winches are pricey (+/- 1.8k) -- but if your desire is to move it, it will sell like right now depending on the price you set it at.

How big a deal to get it back to stock? Go over it real well with whoever is going to do the work before the work starts. Sounds like a spring lift, so it isn't a simple matter of removing some blocks? Spring hangers, bushings, make sure the springs you are going to install are still good (might get new ones for the front), dress them up the way you want them (smooth them out, spring tip bushings). The driveshafts need to be looked at, make sure they are going to work in the stock configuration -- if new shafts were put in for the lift, might have to locate stock ones. Have to get new shock absorbers as well? Just some thoughts.

Sweet looking, certainly capable truck. Might wait awhile, see if it grows on you. It still retains its stockish appearance. How does it track down the road?

If your gauge pod is like mine it will have screw holes in it. The harness on mine is in the black plastic tubing going down tyhe center of the dash. If you sell it I am interested
