Removal of HBS leveling kit, what now? "LIFT...

Ok guys, after the inability to properly align my wheels, the funny wear on my tires, and the constant pull to the right,....Im finally thinking Im gonna remove my 2" leveling spacers from hell bent steel.

A friend of mine has convinced me that a leveling kit from say KORE, Thuren, or Lorenz was the way to go since you can add mini pacs, and springs and such. I know this has been posted a ton, but I had trouble sifting through answers.

1. What is the best leveling kit, ride wise out there? Cost?

2. Who has the best bargin going on for this?

3. What do the mini pacs do besides lift, do they smooth out the ride any?

4 Will I be able to roll on 37's?

I want to be able to eventually roll on 37's if I so choose to, I have 35's now, but want the ability to go a size bigger. Im wanting to make my truck safer, as Ive heard the HBS isnt that safe, I want the best ride possible, and the ability to run 37's.

I dont wanna lift it too high for parking garage purposes, but I dont like my front end nose diving either. Lets hear it! Oh....I already have 5100's!

Just go with the new Kore Recon kit.

(I would not worry about 37's, 35's will get the job done.)

Well I dont really need any bigger tires, I just thought it would make it look better. Plus I still want to be able to fit in parking garages, and the 35's are close, so Im unsure if 37's would still work.

Ya, I was thinking about just going Kore, but they are kinda expensive and I thought there were some realistic alternatives to the KORE kit? Aren't there some kits that are very similar for less money?

you really have to make up your mind on whether you want to still use parking garages or not. My 37's would rub on the rear of the front fender with a 6in lift, then added the 3in bodylift and no problems and now can run 40's and still have great clearance.

Kore has just added a steering stabilizer and end links to its Recon kit and the price is the same.

I got a KORE kit for myself (Custom KORE, half chase half race), i talked to three of KORE's dealers and they said you will have very little rub if at all unless you use your truck hard offroad. The biggest deal is the wheels used. depending on the backspacing of wheels used, will you be able to fit 37"s. They told me if i used the stock wheels I would be good and that's 37/13.5/17 TOYO MT's/

Another thing to consider in the 35" or 37" tire debate is that you can still fit a 35" spare tire in the factory location. A 37" tire is too big for the space and won't fit.

Nice work pt just what we all wanted to see, what are the alu brackets in the second kit? Does the mini pack replace the overloads, and add lift in the rear?

Those aluminum blocks are sway bar drop blocks. The Carli kit uses longer and stronger end links, Lorenz offers the longer stronger end links as an option, and the KORE kit uses a combination of blocks and end links. I suggest replacing the end links no matter which direction you take. The stock links are pencil thin and bend easily.

The mini packs replace the overloads and lift the rear about an inch.

Coolumconst- These leveling kits you see here are the good ones. They don't mess up alingments. The spacers only ones, like Bosshog and myself have screw the align up b/c when the spacers are added on top of the coils the track bar still mounts in the same place. Which is to the frame and the axle, well, In turn, it's too short now b/c of the spacers so it shifts the axle to the left to compensate for the added length. This can be corrected by using a drop track bar bracket or you can do the smart thing and just buy an extended track bar from Thuren Fabs or numerous others b/c the factory 3rd gen track bar bushings are junk and the track bar will need to be replaced regularly anyhow. If not, you'll end up with the "Death Wobble", an unforgetable experience to say the least. And when that time comes, go with the aftermarket adjustable ones b/c they cost aproximately the same as an OEM piece anyhow. I made that mistake already.

TRX- I think the aluminum brackets are to drop the swaybar. I think the mini packs just add like an inch in the rear. I don't think they replace the overloads though. Not really sure.

Is yall's situation w/ the leveling kits isolated incidents? It seems there is a whole lot of people using the hbs & similar products w/out any issues.

For any of the kits listed running 37s is more about the wheel than the amount of lift. Nice job Pauly

Then you will prob need to do some fender trimming, not much, not noticeable. The Toyo's are 13.5 wide and may have more interference than a 12.5 wide tire. I have not tried them through.

The Mini Spring Packs take a out a bit of the initial ride harshness, expansion joints and such. They dont provide much lift if any at all.
