REGEN EGT's W/ Edge Juice w/Attitude???

I'm new here and this is a two part question. Has anyone seen an average time on how long the Regeneration takes place when monitoring with the Attitude by EDGE? When REGEN is taking place the EGT's sky rocket, i'm assuming that the 6.7L can handle higher EGT's because of this, am I right? I gotta tell ya', It's a little worrisome when I hear people freaking out when their EGT's get above 1100 and I'm seeing EGT's around 1100-1250 during REGEN driving down the interstate without a load!!! Should I look into it further?

People are freaking out because they are misinformed or not up to date on year models.

1250* on a late model cummins is a cake walk. I've been trying to get the message accross on various threads but others like to be the .

The 6.7L is also runs a LOT hotter on average in order to reduce NOX emissions. That and coupled with the VGT turbo it runs next to no boost down the highway causing the temps to be pretty high.

That's what I had figured (running hotter) because due to the REGEN it would have to be able to withstand higher temps. My biggest fear is burning out the Turbo. I was driving my truck in level 3 on my Edge w/attitude and it started to REGEN, I was wondering when that happens should I bring the chip back down to stock in order to keep the EGT's lower, or does it matter?

Diesel newbie, I just got an 07 w/6.7 how do you like the edge box? My other question is do you have to drill for the pyro or do they use one of the sensors from the factory? Thanks in advance Trevor

If your driving normal (what ever that is ) and the truck go's in to REGEN it should not matter what level your on. I would amagine you would only see a really high egt reading if your racing around with the edge turned up and the REGEN came on. IMOP

I love the Edge Juice w/ attitude! Instant notice on HP and driveability! I can't get a very accurate 0-60 time though because the tires just want to roast off in Level 3! I even let off a bit before I mashed it some more when the light turned green! Unfortunately you do have to drill another hole for the pyro meter....it was a pain too because you don't have a whole lot of room to play with in there, I went just behnd the sensor that has the heat shield on it. We actually had a casualty and broke off the tap inside the hole, so I had to have my father come out and help pull it out. After that, the pyro meter probe slid in like a champ! By the way, I don't know how people are getting such horrible gas mileage either, I have seen 21-22mph/hwy on an average of 80-100 miles and I live in Vermont. Mountains and hills one after another! The great thing about the Edge Chip is that you can tell when you are having a REGEN and it has a Turbo Timer so the EGT's will cool down when the key is out of the ignition, you walk away, then when the EGT's get to the predetermined setting, the truck will shut off. There are soooo many safety's on this thing...definately worth the money!

I love this truck, I have a little over 5,400 miles on it and I haven't seen any problems that some people are talking about. I probably jynxed myself but, I don't care. It's a great truck and I'm glad I went to a Cummins from a HEMI. The Edge Juice is incredible but I'm a little nervouse to romp on it because it's still my baby. I don't want to overheat the transmission or anything...have you noticed any do's and don't's with the chip in your megacab?

qzilla, I don't mean to step on any toes, but I've always thought high exhaust temps were the cause of high nox emissions. I believe that is one of the reasons for putting egr systems is to lower exhaust temps somewhat, thereby lowering nox emissions.

Diesel Newbie, glad the Edge is working well for you. Mine is being ordered on Tuesday morning (Sept.4th). I can hardly wait !!
