Reducing Tire Pressure When Not Towing

Here's a quick question. I've been in the habit of leaving my tire pressures the same whether towing or not (60 lbs front, 80 lbs rear). I feel the truck would have a softer ride if I reduced the pressure, especially in the rear tires when running solo. Is there any benefit in leaving the pressure in the rears at 80 lbs, especially as related to tread life? Or, do you think I should lower these pressures. Thanks in advance for your suggestions....

When i' am empty, i run 45 psi all he way around and lower my airbags to about 10 psi. ride is so much better. i noticed my rear tires wear different fully inflated and air bags aired up to 35+ psi.

I run 60 front and 50 rear when not towing. Towing I go 60 front and 80 rear. We really notice the differnce in the ride when we are traveling and unhook from the trailer with the rears at 80. You feel every little bump in the road.

When empty I keep my front tires at no less then 65 psi being the engine has some weight to it and I try to keep the rear tires around 55+ psi.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I reduced my rear tires to 60 lbs this morning. Now all 4 tires are at 60 lbs. The ride does seem softer. I don't know why I didn't do this a long time ago. I think one of the reasons may have been I was concerned about getting to much water in the tires by constantly deflating and inflating them since I'm on the road a lot as a fulltime RVer. (the water comes from the air compressor, especially if the weather is humid). I'm not going to worry about that now since the ride is nicer. Thanks again...
