Redline Box for 24valve

I'm looknig for some input from anyone who has experience with a Redline box, specifically for sled pulling.

Just wondering how well it woudl work to get me further down the track, and if stock valve springs can handle the extra RPM's.

Thanks.

redline

I have a redline and as of yet have not been able to do better than the EDGE drag comp, I have the spring upgrade, with a helix 3 cam which i would think would really benefit from the redline. I did notice that it had a long flat curve with the redline but the drag comp was a few pony's more. it last dynoed 572HP with a sled puller 66 turbo on diesel only, it is laggy on the road, runs very warm on the road with no boost at all unless there is a good load or you really hit it, but at the pull it works very well I bring it to just over 5 PSI at the line turn it loss and scream to the end of the line and never loss power ( unless there is an electrical problem which I have been having my share of ).

you should add a timing box thats the red lines weakness they only add fuel

What box do you recommend, and I didn't know you could use another box with the redline since it bypasses the ECM?

If you still have the drag comp stack it with the Redline, in EZ mode. You will get better bottom end, and cooler EGT's, once you stack it with a timing box.

what kind of RPM's are you running at when pulling, also what gear? I have been using 5th low and see about 3000-3200 with 3.55 gears and my 315 tires. I've been looking at the redline for more RPM's but not sure if it will give the to me. On the street my TST will fuel hard to 36-3800 RPM.

I ran a Van Aaken with my Blue Chip FMS on my 01' & it was a nice combo, should compliment the Redline just as good!

I have never pulled with the redline, The truck has 3.55 gears 34" super swamper tires, auto tranny Low range with O/D locked out. I leave the line at 5 Psi when it shifts to 3rd I lock the converter and it usually runs the distance at the stock redline, if the Rpm starts to drop I unlock it and let it down shift.

I thought you couldnt stack any thing with the redline since it by passes the ECM I could see the EDGE maybe but with the ECM bypassed there is no way to use a down loader like Smarty or super chip ( or is there? ).

It's my opinion that the redline box is just too much money for the little you get out of it. I had one on mine for 6 months and could never get all the electrical problems figured out, bluechip was no help they just said every truck is different and it worked on their shop truck. And after that much trying , a wasted trip to IRP and countless other hours trying to fix THEIR problems, they wouldn't do anymore than say we will give you $750 to take it back or tell who ever buys it if they have a problem to send it back and they would fix it $1500 for 250 rpm IMO thats a little too much. If you're looking for rpms and a lot of fuel P-PUMP it

Thanks for the input. I agree, I can port my head and get a cam for the price of a redline box. That's why I was weary of it.
