Recycled Coolant. Good or Bad idea?
I got a gift certificate for a Quikie Lube and decided to use it the other day.
I watched everything they did like a hawk. The only thing I was concerned about was their coolant replacement technique.
They dont replace, they only recycle.
I could think of a few good reasons to do this:
1) The factory coolant is re-used, so no chance of using the wrong stuff.
2) Recycle so they can say they use "green technology".
3) Save money.
Should I go home and flush that recyled stuff out and replace with new, or am I ok?

I am not real familiar with this practice, but if it gets filtered and the additives get replenished, it's probably just as good or better than new coolant.

My self I would not do the recycled thing you did with some unknown additives mixed in with it. But then its your truck and not mine and I don't have to pay for the repairs as if I did it would only have new coolant installed.
