Recon lights?
is anyone else having troubles with recon lights?
i'm thinking of getting there LED cabbies because my truck didnt come with them origionally for some reason
I would like a line of fire and maybe the big rig lights too
but one of my buddy who has the big rig lights said not to bother theyre junk?
he ran his 1 year and they were messed up.. he tryed to get warranty and they asked if hes run them in wet conditions... he said well slush and snow is wet conditions and they wouldnt warranty them! what crap!
does anyone on here run the RECON LED clearence lights and if so what is your opinion of them?

mine been on for over 2 years with 3rd brake light and line of fire tail gate. Been in 35 below zero weather to 110 degree weather, rain, slush, sleet, snow, freezing rain ect and never had a problem. I hard wired mine. Made my own harness, got rid of the connectors they come with, soldiered connections with shrink wrap.

As Chris pointed out, hardwiring the recon stuff is crucial to them lasting longer. For some reason their connectors are junk. I have had the cab lights for 2 yrs as well, not a single issue.

I have the smoked cab lights for almost two years and have had no issues with them at all, even with the Florida rain and a Tropical Storm two moths after I got them, with that said, I also have the tail lights and the fitment on them suck big time. I had to shim them like almost 1/2 inch.

i had the smoked cab lights, rear third brake light and mirror clearance lights on my ford. the rear brake light LED's went out after 1 year, the mirror clearnace lights never fit right and i just reinstalled the stock ones. so for me i wouldnt bother with their stuff.

GO to ebay and look at the Ultimate Designe LED products. As I said before, this is what I have been using with NO problem whatsoever. Recon is the same product, but worse connectors and very proud of their junk.

Forget the Recons, they're junk. Get a set of the Greote's. They are much better than any replacement pieces I've seen on our trucks and are the same price or cheaper. I posted a bunch of pics in another Recon a few months ago. I like them much better than the oem's and their replacements like Recons.
