I will be replacing all 4 ball Joints, pitman arm, and idealer arm. This will be my first time doing frontend work are there any tricks to make it go smother. also is there anything i should look for and/or replace.

Get a hand when removing the knuckle, its heavy! Also check for spot welds on the BJs, I've heard they are there on some vehicles. Didn't find any on mine though. I did mine a week ago, everything went nice and smooth. Hardest part was finding a place to rent the BJ press. Spray it down with some penetrating oil a couple minutes before you tackle the nuts on the tie rods and BJs. Shouldn't need to soak it for a day or anything. Everything in my truck is pretty rusty, but a few minutes and it was good to go. A small pin punch is handy for knocking the cotter pins when they break apart.

Take a look at your coil springs. I've got half coil broke on the bottom. I guess I need to go to air bags sooner rather than later. Also check the tie rods while you're under there. Mine were shot. New ones make the truck drive so much better. Can't wait for the alignment, should be a dream then.

Its an expensive job, but its fairly easy and straight forward. This was the first time I've done suspension work, was about 5.5 hours from taking tools out to putting them away, at a liesurely pace. The second side goes much faster once you figure out the best way to do it. Figuring out which cups on the BJ press was the most time consuming part.
