Rearend walking with new 35 Toyos

Just put the 35x12.50x17 Toyo M/Ts with 2" spacers on (DRW) and at highway speeds, if you bump the steering wheel one way or the other the rearend kinda sashshays(sp?). Is this just something you have to get used to or will it get better after they wear in. Only about 22 miles on them and at 55psi. I think the wife would be too scared to drive right now. Any thoughts?

Also would it be a good idea to install a Rancho steering stabilizer to replace the one from the factory?

new tire squish, the tall deep lugs are flexing and thats what ya feel, as you get used to it it will get better and wear down a bit. you can try changing the tire pressure to see if you find a sweet spot.

Even my truck with standard size tires did this when I had them replaced with Goodyear Road Armors. It took about 1,000 miles to get them to act right. It was a pain in the tail and I hated it.

Yep, totally normal for me too on my Toyo MT's. I think after a good 500-1000 miles everything was normal and broke in.

Good luck and enjoy.

I'm probably wrong here, but instead of it being the tread, isn't it the big increase in the side wall height? Doesn't it just have more flex to it and takes longer to recover from the sway?

Thanks for the replies.
How do ya'll feel about the steering stabilizer? I am willing to do it if it will make the tires last longer.

It can`t hurt to install one...but it`s not going to make your tires last longer...and it won`t take the "squish" out either.

My neighbor had this w/the Terra's. It was absolutely rediculous! Felt VERY dangerous. He runs an auto repair shop & checked out everything on the truck thinking something serious was broke. He too k them back & got different tires.
