Rear ended , need MBRP tail pipe ?

Got rear ended the other day , tail pipe got bent is a couple spots , got opened up enough to drive , It was a MBRP 4" aluminized exhaust , with muffler .
I used band clamps instead of u-bolts , so looking for just the tail pipe from muffler back , been looking around and only complete systems available from what I have found so far , unlike a lot of accidents out there / insurance , the guy who hit me & I are just going between each other , getting that giant middle man out of it .
His car was totaled , ripped the left front fender , drive wheel off down to the unibody , just bent my stock bumper & folded the tail pipe .

When I had an accident one rim was bent and the same type was no longer available.
The "giant middle man" bought me a new set of four mounted and balanced.
Seems to me you should get an entire exhaust system if the same type you now have isn't available in part.

A good muffler shop should be able to bend one up for you.

Not reporting an accident, even if not your fault, could lead to real trouble.

You don't have to report an accident to insurance, do you?

I know up here, if its less than $1k in damage, you don't have to report to police. Over $1k, you have to report it to the police. At no point are you required to report to the insurance if you don't want to.

One vehicle was totalled, more than $1k? I'm not say would, but I think there are a lot of different laws in different states that COULD cause problems. Besides, if it wasn't reported, how do you force the offender to fix the damage?

From my reading, he has skipped the middle man, which to me means the insurance company. He never said if he did or did not report to the police, thats all assumption at this point.
