Negligible difference. I have 4:10s but give the choice, I'd go with a 3.73. I have been averaging 19.5 to 20.5 all winter. Now that we are hitting the 70s every I reached 21.4 on the last tank.

I have the 3.73 's and just took my first trip of 2ooo mi. I have 3900 now and I am getting 18.5-19.5. Got 14-16 pulling a 27' fifth wheel.

Forced to choose between 4:10 & 3:54, and knowing I was increasing tire size, I chose 4:10. For a third time. <br><br>Given the option of 3:73, even with a reasonable tire size upgrade, I'd do 3:73 all day long.

Compared to what? What do you get if you run those tires with 3.73's? Gears is gears. This exercise reminds me of my statistics class in school, where we were told that "figures don't lie, but liars figure". No, I'm not calling anyone a liar here. My shields are down.
To the guy that started this thread: Chris thinks that unless you're pulling really heavy loads all the time, I'd go with 3.73s. Mileage may be a little better, and you you'll have lots less commotion under the hood.
