Rear bumper compatibility

I have a 12V 98 Sport 4x4, needs new rear bumper. Will any 2nd gen factory bumper bolt on, or were there changes over the years, 2500/3500, sport/non-sport, 2/4wd etc? Color doesn't matter, I'd rather have chrome though
I think they would all work, but thats when I get burned

Sports were the only different bumpers. All the rest are the same, until you hit 2003 that is.

But a SLT would bolt up to a Sport and vice versa, they would just look different.

94-2002 will bolt on just make sure any 02 is from a 3/4 or 1 ton because 02 1/2 ton is the new body style. Front bumpers 94-96 bolt on- 97 and up frame ends and brackets are different.
