Is there any difference in the axle seals you buy from the dealer and the ones from the parts houses? Also how hard are these to change?

For what I am seeing I just bought an oil bath seal for mine. A little more expensive but is supposed to be double lipped and much better. Got it at Napa. Haven't changed it yet so cant answer that.

The seals should be the same. The change is easy. To get it out just a slide hammer or something along that line and then you just tap the new ones in there. Make sure you do that evenly. Then you put everything back together.

They are pretty easy to do. Was doing a rear brake job on mine, pulled the rotors off and saw a surprise. One leaked so bad took the parking brake shoes with it. Turned into an expensive brake job!

A cool trick someone showed me was to turn your rotor/drum upside down on the ground(holes for lugs facing up) set your hub assembly down on top of it(lugs down) the seal should be lookin at you place a long screwdriver/prybar under one lip of the seal and let the edge of the long prying device on the other edge(you just made a little lever) and step really hard. Duck at the same time cause that seal is going to go about 50 feet in the air. It may be hard to visualize while reading but you'll see when you get everything apart. Good luck!
