totally 100 percent agree shouldnt stack timing together but i was also told that the smarty only does one or the other or can do both. heard it could just fuel, or just add timing, if this is the case, then i would have 2 fueling boxes. is that over the top or no. i am still gettin 150hp sticks so..........

The Van Aaken is a timing box so you wouldn't want to run the Smarty on the odd settings, but otherwise you could stack them. However since you said Pump Controller, I'm guessing you have the R type box and it may be an older one at that, so you may be best off just replacing it with the Smarty... heck, probably better off replacing it even if its a newer box
I know I'm already thinking I should sell the VA and get a Smarty, its just all that extra $$ that is stopping me

Never heard of anyone stacking a VA with a Comp. Usually nothing is ever stacked with a Comp, unless you call the reprogramed Smarty ECM, with a Comp, a stack. The Comp-VA stack, if anything won't make any difference in power from the Comp, alone, and probably actually produces less.
