Guys what is your input on this. I was at the local car meet fri night. I have yet to been beat by another diesel truck in a race out there. Well last night this guy comes up in a 4 door short bed 2500 with the 6.7 with a bully dog PMT. He claims the truck is stock other wise, and that he had torn up the stock tranny already but since under warranty he jus got dodge to replace what was necessary with stock parts. Which i would think that any diesel enthusaist would know better than to go with another stock tranny but ok. Anyhow we went and raced. I was on Sw9 with the stock revo, boosted to ten pounds and left ok. He spooled to whatever number and left the line ridiculously. My buddy riding with me swears up and down his left front tire came up off the ground. (The guy did say this it would do that earlyier) So we both took off an from the start he jump a length and a half on me, maybe two and held it the whole way. I dont think his truck was any faster than mine except off the launch being that he could not pull away any more.
I have raced three 6.7's before and they have all got me off the line but i have caught them and beat them.
So whats the deal are these 6.7's this fast or is it just me not doing something right. anyhow talk to ya'll later

There's a lot more to a drag race than torque. You have to plant that torque to the pavement. He's pulling one tire off the ground. That means he's hooking up really well. He gets 1.5-2 lengths tright off the bat. That means you're not hooking up well. You're making good torque, but you're not able to apply it.
Time for you to do some suspension work.

all i see in your sig thats gonna make your truck any faster than stock is an converter and a smarty. you have an 03. which version of smarty are you running? smartys on 04.5 and up are way more advanced then the 03 trucks. 03 trucks need bigger injectors or more duration to hang with the newer trucks. 6.7 are snotty stock and with the pmt they roll pretty good. im suprised he only got you by 2 truck lenghts. get a tst, 90 hp tips, full trans, turbo, and a airdog and race him again. the outcome wont be the same.

Just remember there will always be.
1. Somebody with more money
2. Somebody that's faster
3. Somebody that's better
4. Somebody that's this
5. Somebody that's that
Now most revolve around number 1, and you can't have everything, you want a drag truck, build a drag truck, but don't expect to take it rock crawling. Want a rock crawler, don't expect to get 30 mpg. Want to two a 5 th wheel, don't lift it 12 inches and put 44's under it.
Like Bob sad, if you want a mean drag truck put some ladder bars on there to keep axle wrap low, put on some 90/10 socks to keep the front up and weight on the back tires, put on some gripper tires (softer) air them down, lots to do, but will limit everything else.
It's all in what you want. I like to sit back and watch others break there toys
