Real or Fake?

Mitch Rompola..

A buddy of mine and I were talkin white tails at work for well over an hour today, and this name came up once again. For those of you who do not know who this man is, just click on these pictures below and you will see his claim to fame so to say...

Impressive is all that i have to say, being that big whitetails are known to reside in the golden triangle (Webb La Salle and Dimmit counties in Texas) i have seen some monster deer, but I also know that northern whitetails are huge as well, and i do not lack respect for them. This one on the other hand, i give the benefit of a doubt so to say, in the fact that I am inconclusive for many a factor, part of me dont believe it, due to some factors, and the other part of me does.. My question is about this buck, how many of you hunters believe it is real? or that it is fake. I have my opinions, id like to know urs...

No offense meant to anyone in any way, just curious here...

I don't deer hunt because I dont have the patience... But all my friends do, and I love deer... So take this for what it's worth.

I say fake, for two reasons... First off, it just dosen't looks right, esp the spacing between the tines, the shape just looks off.

And more importantly the guy looks like he is trying to hide something... Put up or shut up. If you aren't willing to prove it, don't say you did it!

I didn't think that there was anymore debate to be had about validity of this deer... no proof = fake. If Mitch wanted to clear his name, he'd have it x-rayed.... then he'd make a ton of money.

All the years I have lived in Saskatchewan and seen some REAL big bucks...and I was counting wrong.
I always thought you counted the points from one half of the rack.
I was always seeing 5 point bucks...10's to be correct, only 3 miles from where I lived.
I only hunted deer two seasons. Always out in the fields, bird hunting etc.
I have seen my share of Big Bucks. The one in that pic looks nothing like the ones I saw...the racks on the ones I saw where closer/tighter.

You cant eat the horns. That is why I hunt and trap hogs. 150#s and smaller is what I like. You can keep all the big deer or hogs for that matter. A small hog tastes better than either of them. TROPHYS Back to the question at hand. LOOKS FAKE.

In Nebraska we have mulies to the west and white tails in the east. Obviously, there is a part where they mingle. What we have done here is call a white tail (for example) a 5x5 and a mulie a 10 point. Clear as mud I know, but it works here. Elk are called BIG DEER! And cows are no limit no season!

Photos look they were taken with a 1/4 mega-pixel camera? Whats with that?

We have a awesome albino that hangs out in a field on my way home (property own by the DuPont's, go figure) Every once in a while there are guys out there with tele-photo lenses taking pictures.

I think Kelley has it right. They nay be fun to look at, but a nice 125 lb. doe probably tastes better!
