A real BLACK FRIDAY!!!

While leaving for work Friday morning I was hit by a man who had gotten up to go Christmas shopping and was returning home and fell asleep and woke up to the site of my 3500's rearend crossing his hood. Needless to say it killed my truck and didn't help the looks of his Buick much else, but luckily nethier of us was hurt just my neck and feelings and his few teeth from the steering wheel. Now for the fun part dealing with insurance company and trying to get them to replace ''BIG RED'' rip

Dang Toyo, glad you're OK. We'll keep our fingers crossed on the insurance.

I'm hoping to hear something tommorow i'm going to get my stuff out of it and i'll try to get pictures, but to give an idea of how bad it was cracked the rearend housing into, tore rearend loose from the truck, driver side rear wheels under the back bumper, spring hanger riped from frame, bent frame in a u shape, sent both drivelines about 35 feet from truck thats just what I could see. We both have State Farm and everybody says thats bad for both of us to have same insurance, but thats allright I know a good lawyer I don't want to go that route but i'm not going to be screwed over something that wasn,t my fault.

Since you were rear ended that way, there is no way they can claim any fault on your part. It's cut and dry in this case. Good luck.

I didn't get rearended I just left my driveway and topped a little hill and he was already in my lane. I live on a two lane road and what sucks even worse is this happened 100 yards from my house and 250 yards from his house and iv,e never met the guy before. He hit me just behind the driver side door almost center of the 3rd door after I tried to miss him or I would have hit head on.

Location and Insurance

A lot depends on your insurance company, and your location. I live in Las Vegas, NV, and I got rear ended by an un-insured driver (which in itself is illegal). Anyhow, my insurance company paid up, then promply raised my rates. I'd been with them for over 10 years with no claims, and they jacked my rates for one claim for an accident in which I had NO fault (stopped at a light, Mr. un-insured pounds into my poor little Accord). I dropped my insurance with them and went to another company.
So, where are you? What year truck? What was the KBB value before the collision?
Sorry your truck got mashed, that's no fun.
