Angry Rattles after dealership

Well, the blend door went out in my truck a few months back and I finally got it to the dealership. Heater and A/C work great now. BUT, now at different times I have a metal sounding rattle coming from the driver side, possibly around the headlight switch or maybe even underneath the steering wheel, it's kind of hard to pin point. Also there is another plastic like sounding rattle at times coming from the dash somewhere around the glove box or passenger side area. This really pisses me off and is very annoying. I am going to take it back to the dealer, but I don't know how that will go. Anyone else had these problems?

Thanks Guys

unfortunately sometimes when you put the dash back together, you can get squeeks and rattles that you never had before. hopefully you can find something that wasn't tightened down, or put back right. good luck.

Let us know what they find, I have a similar rattle on the pass side of my truck behind the glove box, seems like its coming from inside the heat and ac system. Started a few months ago and is steadily getting worse, but I'm reluctant to take it back in fear that they will do exactly the same to the truck as they did to yours, create a problem fixing another.

Boy can I sympathize with your problems. I had my truck into the dealership for a NAV replacement. When I got into the truck they had a new unit installed, worked great, etc - I was a happy camper. When I got home and out of the truck my mood changed dramatically. I dropped my cell phone on the drivers side floor, so when I was getting out I was at a much different level of vision. There was marks all around the places where they took apart the center console, etc to tear things apart to get at the NAV to R&R. Some are very deep, really screwed up several pieces. I returned to the dealership a couple day later, showed the service writer the problems. I have an appointment this coming Monday to have all this damage fixed. I am expecting some new parts but he also said something about some plastics guy to repair some of them. I am totally unhappy - drive into them with a truck that has an interior as new and clean as the day it was purchased, not even a scratch on the entry kick plates and this guy wants to repair the plastic??? Monday could get real interesting when I just out and out demand new parts if they have other ideas about a plastic repair job. I also have rattles I never had before, it may be that they broke some of the holding tabs, etc. Sorry to unload my problem, but it seems this disassembly stuff makes for even greater headaches than you start with.

Thumbs up Try this here....

Check this THREAD. The pictures will show everything that gets loosened during this procedure. The little support bracket on the glove box side usually gets forgot. Also the knee blocker panel that unsnaps below the column has a steel reinforcement plate that is held in by four screws. Could easily have been forgotten to finish tightening.

I'll let you know how it goes when I take it back to the dealer. Don't know when it will be though, probably a week or two
