rattle/drivers side floor area

I have a rattle under the drivers side floor area. I looked underneath for a culprit but couldn't find anything. I did a few searches and came up with shock bolts and steering shaft bushing. I checked the steering shaft bushing today and it feels real tight. The shock bolts sound more like it because I just replaced the shocks about 2 weeks ago. I was sure to put the rubber gromets in on the upper washers.

How many foot pounds on those lower bolts?

someone else had a steering box working it's way loose from the frame? is this common?

I'd say either your lower shock bolts, or your control arms might be a tad loose on that side.

How many ft/lbs? Get the biggest, baddest impact you can find and give it hell. That's how many ft/lbs it takes.

i used a 1/2 ratchet w/ a huge pipe to get the lower front shock bolts tight enough... i dont think anyone is going to have a good enough impact for those.

In another thread similar to this, someone had a loose wheelwell liner. The stock plastic rivets get worn out, I had this same problem with a rattle as well in that spot.

update

Ok, as suggested I tightend the dickens out of the lower shock bolts and did find a loose fender well that I put a new screw in. took it up the road and it's gone!

Thanks again boys!
