ramafier and BDDL

I have a chance to purchase a ts ramifier for my truck. It says it is for a 2003-2004. Is there a seperate one for the 2004.5 600 and will ths work on my 2004.5 600 and will it do me any good to stack it with my Bully Dog Downloader. I am new to all this stuff and i do not know how everything would work together Thankyou

The Ramifier will stack with the DL. Although it may have to be reprogrammed to use on the 600 motor. You can try and should be able to tell as soon as you start the truck or drive it. If it needs to be reprogrammed take it or send it to a TS dealer and they should do it for free of charge. I had that combo stacked on my truck for a while worked great.

Ramifier boost fools and raises rail pressure. The downloader raise rail pressure, toys with timing some, and increases duration. They should work together...might be too much rail pressure if it is not adjustable.

If you use a pressure box from a 03-04 motor on a 600 you can overspool the charger because the 600 boxes dont boost fool because if you do then the electronic WG valve wont open. there is also a pressure diffrence between the two.

thanks. What i guess ill do is call them and see if it can be reprogramed. I would definitatly not put on a chip that is designed for the 03-04 unless they can reflash it to be correct. Thank you agan for the info

If your truck is an 04.5, you need to have the ramifier reprogrammed. The ramifier on my truck now was off my 03' and I had to send it in to have it programmed for the 600 motor.

i spoke to TS products this morning. They said that they can reprogram it for the 600s, but when i asked about compatibility with the downloader he had no idea. Does anyone know if the ramifier is adjustable or have any other input on how this combo will work. Thanks

In brief...I don't think you want to add another 100 hp via pressure on top of the hp provided by the Bully Dog DL. They may do up to 50 hp from pressure already.

150 hp from pressure only is more than the fuel system will like...

See if they can detune the power some...maybe 70 hp.

The downloader makes most of its power via duration and a little from timing and pressure.

It is mild on pressure so that it can be stacked with a pressure box for those who want to go there. that said, a 100HP pressure box is already very aggressive in the rail pressure department; from my testing on the 305 HP engine, which was not conclusive, I tend to believe that such boxes already push the rail to or beyond the set point of the pressure relief valve, and that additional power above ~ 70 horsepower obtained via pressure fooling may be obtained by forcing the ECM into dialing up additional duration and timing in its unsuccesful attempt to raise rail pressure.

consider that, as I have witnessed the behavior of pressure boxes on the 03-04, they force a higher pressure by sending pressure lies to the ECM. the ECM, in turn, lowers duration so that the box accomplishes a higher running rail pressure for the same power output. I haven't tested a 600 but this is what appears to happen on a 305. Emperically, this suggests that in a stack with the DLr, the pressure box would then "take precedance" and force a higher running pressure in the rail as well, causing the downloaded ECM to shorten duration. This would force the truck to run with lower amounts of duration, overall, and proably not as much timing, for the same power level. It would of course increase the maximum horsepower output by dialing up whatever power was available via pressure. My point here is that there may be only around 60-80 HP available in the rail itself -- including the 30 that bullydog already has -- and that any more has to come from duration and timing.

if you stack the DL'er with a pressure box you will have pressure fooling applied on top of an already elevated rail pressure fueling map. I'm not sure I would be too excited about the combo, since the DL'd already raises rail pressure on the order of 2,000-3000 PSI, by my estimates based on experimental results on the 305 HP engine. My belief at this point is that the rail has no more pressure to give beyond about 60-80HP, and that all 100HP pressure boxes reach this point on the 305 HP engine. I would be interesting to see how much additional RWHP is obtained from a pressure box stacked on top of the DLr. I suspect on the order of 50 HP or less on the 305HP engine.

I would expect any pressure box that works with the stock truck will work with the DLr. on the 600 or the 305. My only caution is that with 30HP already in the DLr via pressure, additional aggressive pressure fooling will probably cause you to bump the pressure relief valve more often than with just the pressure box.

well, the new info I was trying to weave into the discussion was that I believe (on the 305HP engine):

30HP is due to pressure in the DLr, not 50

Bullydog expects and built the downloader to work with a pressure box

you shouldn't stack a pressure box with the DLr unless the pressure box itself works on the stock truck.

about 70HP is available in the rail with a real pressure increase. with or w/o the DLr. so if it were me I wouldn't add over 40HP with a pressure box stacked with the DLr.

beyond ~70HP or so due to pressure fooling on a stock truck all pressure boxes without the DLr probably open the pop-off and accomplish additional power increases with timing and duration instead of additional pressure that the CP3 cannot supply.

I haven't tried it, but I wouldn't count on it working. You would probably get an overboost code.
