Ram air hood benefit a diesel ?

My truck was involved in a rather large accident Sunday night and now I have to rebuild the front end. Anyway, I am looking at an SRT style functional ram air hood a guy is selling off his truck, Anyway, I was gonna get the hood just to change the look a lil, but now I am thinking bout hookin it up. granted I will have to modify my box since it is not in the same place as a gasser, but would the diesel benefit from this ?

I'm sure you would get some kind of benefit from jamming air into the intake. I have had the same thought myself but don't know if I have the ambition to do it right.... Do it and then sell us the plans......

That's what I'm talkin bout.
If I do it, I will tell all ya how I did it and what I used. Have to get it and fix the truck first. Lookin like almost $10,000 in damages

Checkmate,

Bummer about the truck. Can you post some pictures and details of how well it held up in the wreck.

I like and want to get a Good Hood. They look like the srt-10. BUT they are set up for what they call a ram air setup. Looks more like it just dumps cold air into the box. So i will not waste my money on their ram air box set up http://www.carhoods.com/

I'm sure I could just get a setup from a gas engine and use parts of it to make me a setup for the diesel. I think the biggest issue is getting the part that bolts up to the hood. The rest doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to fabricate.
Sorry to tease you carcrz. I will not post anymore pics like this...

You guys have just got to keep your eyes open for the deals! I got this hood, already paintedfor about half of what a new unpainted one costs! I know where there was a set of painted Patriot Blue ATS fender flares for $100.00 yesterday. They are probably already gone at that price though. You have to be diligent in looking at some of these sites everyday until you find what you need for the right price...
You know, you all could have gotten your dealerships to paint you a new SRT10 hood up for around $800.00 extra when you were buying your truck new... I was going to buy a Solar Yellow truck and that's the deal they offered me.......

I just sold a set of ATS flares for 200 painted PB7 to a kid in VA, I had ATS paint them and they used way to much flake in them. So they were way off. So I took a 200 hit on them

I had an SRT hood installed when I bought the truck. A few months later I had the same thought, let's hook it up. I asked the Dodge dealer and looked at an SRT on the show room floor. The hood is open but no piping to get to the air box.
So you may consider an after market with plumbing or fab your own.
