Ram 3500 4x4 automatic Diesel 5.9 6cyl.
I am new to the forum and hope I am asking the right question here.Could Anybody give me some feed back on the new transmission put on the 5.9l Automatic HO, It seems that
there isn't data to know if there are as strong as they claim at the dealership If anyone is having the same truck and towing 14,000lb RV 5th, please let me know ???

Based on the model dsignation, the 48re is supposed to be able to handle 100lb-ft more than the 47re. (48re=4speeds, 800lb-ft capacity, Rear wheel drive, Electronically controlled.
With a bombed CTD, odds are that it's just delaying the inevitable-- a trip to the tranny shop.
It's probably better in ever regard than the 47re, but STILL not strong enough for a CTD bombed more than just the smallest amount.
