Why splice, can't you get an adaptor to go from DC to the 9835?

If you still want to splice, let me know and I'll puruse my shop manual for wire colors etc.

A pre-made adapter sure sounds like the route to go though.

This is the wiring diagram of the premium sound system. Which sound system do you have?

because i like to splice i have the dodge end of the scosche (sp?) 2 piece plug and play harness, the 9835 requires a separate wire from the battter so i'd have to cut the + wire on the plug and play harness and splice anyways.

I just uploaded a couple wiring diagrams that will hopefully help. It might take a while before they are approved.

Good luck.

great, thanks!

however, as luck would have it, the wires on the harness that plugs into the stock harness and the alpine harness were all the same color. unit is up and running. inside still smells like solder.

YES!, You can buy an aftermarket harness that will plug right in to the OEM harness on one side and has the bare wires on the other end. Use the bare wires you need to hook up the aftermarket head unit and cap off the rest. When you sell the truck you can unplug your deck and plug the factory unit back in. Keeps the resale up on the truck.
