Unfortunately since your truck does not have the original radio in it-only the selling dealer is going to want to touch it-in fact they're going to prob eat the cost.Warranty only applies to "original" equipment & if the selling dealer did not update the radio w/ chry & apply it to your optionjs list-warr. is not going to pay them or your local dealer for that radio ( at least on your vin#).So you can understand why your local wants nothing to do w/ it.

Have you check to see if the radio was original or was installed after the fact. You could do this two ways: !. Have someone check your vin for installed options and accessories. 2. Open your glove box and look for a parts list sticker that should have all installed accesories on it. I know I have one, but am not sure is the radio is listed.

Reread your first post and see that you have a 2007. Your truck was new right? Or was it used? If new and thats the case, I am wondering why are you hitting a road block with getting the radio fixed?

If used, and the original milelage was past the bumper to bumper 36000 miles you may have to buy aftermarket even with the extended warranty. Since Dodge/Chyrsler can claim it like health insurance can claim certain health care coverage as pre-exsisiting condidtion.

You did metion that when you traveled to purchase the truck the radio was metioned as having a fault. You did metion that fault at time of purchased, right? So, I would make the dealer pay for it or have it warranty. Otherwise, I would find a lawyer and start a lemon law buy back. The radio might just be the tip of the Iceburg for other major problems. I know, it is not what you want to hear, but it could be the truth.

If the selling dealer will take the time, they can update the options for warranty purposes showing that you had the radio installed later. THEN...the dealer close to you can do the warranty work. It will take some doing, and some hand holding ( to get the salesman to do it! ), but it could be worth it in the long run. All depends on how long you are willing to wait, and IF they will do it for you.

If you've got a good selling dealer, they will add the radio to the "VIN" list. When I put a factory NAV unit (ebay item) in the truck and took it to the dealer to have it enabled with the Star Scan tool, they also added it to the "VIN" list so that it'd be covered under the rest of the 3/36 warranty.

Almost ALL of my dodges have had issues with the radios!!! First thing I usually do is make a nice trip to the PIONEER outlet store and get a better sounding, longer lasting unit. JMO

The selling dealer has to cover it, but I can understand your local dealer not wanting to eat the cost. Too bad that the selling dealer is jerking you around. Seems to me thay could write a work order for raplacing the radio (if they're getting paid warranty for it), and just send you the radio. If they have to eat the cost, then it should be even easier (and cheaper for them) to just send you a radio.
By the same token, unless you have one of the fancy OEM radios (Infinity, Nav, etc), you're only arguing about $100-200 (cost of an equivalent or better aftermarket radio). Maybe see if your selling dlr salesman will send you a few free oil change coupons or something as a comp for having to buy a new radio.

The stock radios are simple to replace. Go on Ebay find a nice used Stock Navagation unit for your truck and be done with it. If the radio was rreplaced at the dealer before you bought it make that dealer list it under history as an add option. I have seen build sheets that state radio upgrades done by dealer so others had to fix
