Rack travel mods

How thick of a washer can you put on the rack travel plug and still screw the plug back in safely???

Im guessing this is the 'pump plug' my mechanic mentioned? Guess you can get another 30hp or so with it. It sounded as if he had a different sized part that went in place of the original. Maybe call someone that does pumps like piers or scheid's.

the rack plug part# is 1413462095 it is a bosch part. but the pump must be removed to do it. or at least pulled back. i have never done the washer mods.

Over travelling the rack is tricky.. If you go too far, you start to close the plunger port slightly at full travel and you loose fuel fast. If you are tinkering, go with plunger up grades or pump cam changes. Rack travel is a game of thousanths of millimeters.

A second washer of the same size will net you 1.5 MM of travel.
