Post A Quick Survey

I know cab lights have been discussed a trillion times , but my survey is:

Who has installed Recon smoked cab lights for a**2006**, installed them & had no problems, ie;fit, finish, wiring & leakage.

Yall's input will be my deciding factor on Recons or factory style. TIA.

Smoke Recon's on my 2004.5, two years, no problems. I did seal them with silicone and put in yellow LED's so hopefullly never have to mess with them.

People say the **2006** don't fit right & leak. Anyone else?

I have a good friend with an 06 and we put them on his truck and they did leak after about 3 months.. Really only did it when you went through the automatic carwash.. (My 05 does this too...)

Double'd up the weather seal and Used a touch of silicone and no problems since.

I wouldn't understand why they would leak on an 06 and none of the years prior.. cabs are the same to the best of my knowledge.

Throw them on there... Just use a dab of silicone.

I was under the impression that 2006's are more prominent to leak, but maybe it is all 3rd gen.? I will def. use some silicone, but if they're gonna leak, I don't want my headliner ruined.
