quick help.....which exhaust?
Aight.....my exhaust broke off.....hangers melted thin......then my flex-pipe broke off.....soooo....my remaining exhaust is hanging off my exhaust housing...not good. I am looking at an exhaust from www.autopartswarehouse.com, a four inch complete for $441....free shipping. Sound good?...any better ideas? better prices? opinions?

I have never seen that exaust before. I sell bully dog and I have never seen it in their catalogue. I am not sure many members here have either as it has never been brought up. If it truly is for a first gen then its a good buy especialy if it includes the down pipe. Just so you know the exaust in my sig was for a 6.0L ford not a first gen.

I dont know what prices he has, But you can call Rip Rook at source automotive in Portland Oregon and find out.I'm running his exhaust and it fit real well. Or look him up on the web at sourceautomotive.biz.

where did you get your exhaust? i called the place, spoke to a fairly uninformed sales person...um..no real answers. Free shipping, and a low price....dang...hate to pass it up. Worse case, i guess, is that it will not fit? Maybe i should just be a guinea pig here.....test the waters.

Just have him guarantee in some manner (written, expressed over phone while recorded, etc.) that it is the correct exaust for your application or he will pay to ship it back. If he will not then he probably isnt that sure about it being the right application. Also you could call BullyDog @ 1-866-BULLYDOG and give them them the pt# and ask if they even build an exaust for our application.

Or if you have access to a welder, go to a local big rig shop and get some pieces of 4" pipe and make it yourself. I have less than $100 in a downpipe back 4" straight pipe system. (building a DP will probably add another $50-75).

Redwake:
I just returned from a business trip to Washington and I stopped by Stan's Headers in Auburn (1-800-962-6467). Stan Fuller and his bother Phil spent more than an hour with me showing exactly how their 4-inch exhaust fits a First Gen, etc. The entire system is bolt-on (no welding) using the factory hangers and the downtube connection to the turbo is machined (and not stamped like the OEM). I've rarely dealt with nicer more professional folks and I can't say enough in the way of recommendation. Note that the 4-inch system is tight in the spot between the frame and transfer case, but it will fit.

Redwake, sorry I didn't get to you earlier. I got my exhaust from stansheaders.com. Looks like you got everything figured out already though. Happy Holidays
