Quick Battery Question
So I have been having problems with the seatbelts staying locked in the seat (won't pull out of the seat) for the past couple of months. After checking a few things out like wiring and fuses, I decided to disconnect the battery and see if that helped. I disconnected both ground cables and let it sit. I was going to let it sit for more than an hour like I was recommended, but something came up and I had to use the truck. The batteries were disconnected for about 30 minutes, but when I got back in the truck, all my stereo presets were still there, and the overhead trip meter still said the same thing.
Is this normal? On my Hondas, as soon as you disconnect the cable, even for a second, you lose everything. Do I really need to let it sit disconnected for at least an hour to reset everything? Is there something I am doing wrong?
Mike

I forgot about that. I was always told when working on Honda's to tap the brake pedal to clear out those last few electrons.
Is there a reason they say to disconnect the battery for at least an hour? Would that make a difference if you only left it unhooked for 30 minutes? I'm trying to reset that stupid seat belt inertia box, but apparently 30 minutes wasn't enough.
I'll try it again tomorrow. This time I'll turn the key
