questions about engine assembly
I'm puttin my 03 Cummins engine back together and had a quest.
What are the blue plastic plug like things that are hidden under the epper main bearings ?? I see that the bearings have a hole that ALMOST line up with them, but 75% of it is covered.
Also, any assembly tips would be great as this is my first assembly.
Thanks

Piston oil coolers. They squit oil to cyl wall, wrist pin, and inside piston for cooling and reduce posibilitty of piston galling. Do not bend, spindle, or multilate, over or under torque, or cause them to be plugged by a failed oil filter.

If these are the piston oil coolers, then what are the squirters that angle upward under each cylinder ? I am thinking THESE are the oilers. ?? Now I'm confused. The plastic things are the size of a small pencil eraser.
