Questions on a 99 dodge
Hey guys I have found a 99 dodge for sale. 3/4 ton regular cab with a 5 speed handshaker. The truck has 150,000 mi on it and it is chipped. The father of the boy selling it thought it had an edge on it. He claims it gets 23 mpg after the chip. Don't know that I believe that but I have never had a dodge. They are asking $12,500. $11,000 without tires and wheels. Is that a decent price?

With the price of diesel what it is....yeah it's a little high. Especially if it's 2wd. i have a 99, short bed 4x4 with 219k, blue books at $13000, if it was a
4x4 with extended cab, maybe. Shop around, deals can be had.

my bad it is a 4x4. Will take $11,000 minus the tires and wheels. I am looking for a farm truck so a regular cab long bed is what I need.

Without seeing photos, I probably wouldn't pay more than 10k for it. With 150k, the suspension and steering will likely need work. A clutch will probably be needed (I am/was a kid and still haven't stopped abusing things), etc...
The market sucks for trucks and they know it. With diesel the way it is them and every other tom dick and harry and trying to bail.

I'd also find out whether that was a hand calculated 23mpg or from the overhead. Any fueling box will throw off the overhead and cause it to read higher than actual. Mine reads about 25 when I'm getting 15. Just something to keep in mind if mileage is weighing heavily into your decision.

But 11.5ish for a 99 reg cab with 150 miles and doesn't sound like much done to it seems pretty high, I'm not sure if I could get that for mine
