Question for Smarty/TST owners

I've got the beta 4.x software loaded on level 9, and when I turn my tst up to 3x2, 2x2, or even 2x1, the exhaust has a sputtering sound. The truck doesn't act like its cutting in and out, it just has that noise coming from the exhaust. I loaded level 3 in my smarty and it does it to a certain extent. Anyt thoughts. The truck pulls hard while doing this, and even harder once it gets past it. Lower rpms seem to be the worst.

05 6 speed, stage 1 pump, fass, s-06, tst old twins, k&n cold air kit, straight pipe, htt ss13 62/65, ez level 1

I think that covers everything pertaining to the motor.

With beta or latest Wild TM for aftermarket turbo loaded on SW #9 I can't really run above 3/0 and EZ on 2.

I assume you are turning the TST Timing down to 3* or even 0* Auto while running SW #9. You might try loading SW #8 and set TST Timing to 15* Auto. I seem to get a little better smoother mid to upper range with TST doing the Timing and Smarty doing the fuel maps.

I also normally run the 05TT program with Smarty, less timing rattle and little smoother. Just my experience on my configuration.

I tried the wild TM and my truck was a dog. Loaded beta and power was back. The tst is set for 0 timing and set instead of auto. I never had much luck with the tst timing. I'll try the auto setting though.. I had a problem with no power between the tst and smarty. Then I found my high boost was set for 35, so my truck was defueling really bad.

I don't know what effect the TST will have on actual timing when set to 0* and with SET timing configured. I can tell you that with SET timing and 12* the timing rattle sounds like something is going to blow at low rpms.

I have max boost monitoring turned off on TST always. I have ran the TST/EZ stack for over 2 years now with BD Triple Dog w/CL first and now with Smarty. With Smarty I can find TST Timing settings that usually work about the same either with Smarty Timing or TST Timing. Just takes a lot of configuration testing.
