Question Question about clearance lights

Howdy y'all,

I have a question about the rooftop clearance lights. My truck currently has no clearance lights. I really like the look of them, and would love to have them on my truck. Is his something the dealer could install, or does anybody make kits to install a set? Any information would be appreciated.

You can either have the dealer install the factory lite set or you can order the lite kits from DC. They have two kits available one with the older style lights and ones with the 2000 and up style. I ordered a kit for my last truck with the old style and ordering again for this truck.

The kit comes with the lites, screws, wiring and instructions for hooking up the lites. Also the instruction sheet is a template for drilling the holes for the screws and wires. The complete kit ran me about $80 Cdn and was just as cheap or cheaper than aftermarket sets that don't look as nice.

My thoughts exactly. As good as I am with tools I really don't want to screw up my truck. The price sounds real good for the kit though. I don't know how much $80 CDN is in dollars. Maybe around 60 bucks? Thanks for the quick replies.

How do you hook up the wires? Is there any wiring already there?
Please explain the electrical /wiring install. Thanks

The wiring with the kit comes with the setup to go to each light as well as the runner for down the a-pillar to the under dash junction. There is a connector just below the clutch bracket where all the wires come and go. There is a pin in there that you connect to for the lights as far as I can remember. The instructions tell you where to plug in.

Get the cab clearance lights installed. My girlfriend bought them for me for christmas from dodge and the whole kit (wiring, bulbs, housing, template, and instructions) was ~$80. It plugs into the back of the inside fuse box and comes on with your parking lights and is also fused now. I didn't have to replace the fuse either (directions didn't say to either). I payed someone to drill the holes and line them up and they charged ~$75 to do that. The dealership wouldn't even do the install and if they did, they wanted to charge for 3 hours of work at $80 an hour. The guy that did mine did it in about an hour. He specializes in rebuilding old cars so body work was easy for him. After about 2 months of use, I have no leaks and they look great. Now, I just need to buy the 01 lenses for them. Girlfriend got me the 96 lenses and they stick up more than the 01 lenses do.

Does anyone have the part number for this kit? My dealer couldn't find anything for me. I was the first person to ever ask for the lights.

The light kit for the older pre 01 lites

Mopar # 82205120

I think the mounting for the 01 lenses require a larger hole in the center of the light mount to allow for the bulb to be recessed into the cab. I would check this out before ordering the lenses.

And thanks for the update on the plug in. I was getting confused with another plug for brake controller .

If that's all that's required to mount the 01 lights on the truck, I might go and pick them up today. A dremel makes a nice hole.

Cool, thanks for the number. Do you by chance have the one for the 01 and up lights?

Sorry I do not, but once you find that light kit they should be on the right track for that set as well.
