Question for all of you!

I am looking to buy a 03 or newer 2500 4x4 with a standard shift with of course the cummins but what I would like from you is all the good things and bad things you any of you have found or experienced with your trucks. If there are any pro's or con's or just feel free to voice your thoughts. Thanks for reading and I apprecaite all the help.

I've had some wierd little quirks. All my other trucks (gassers) never had any problems. It doesn't matter to me though. I'm keeping my truck forever.

Seats SUCK!!, but it was an easy fix to make the liveable. And it is freaking impossible to work with the stereo wiring if you have an infinity system, with a downline amp. But hey, the dang thing averages 18.9 - 19.0 mpg for my commute / weekly driving. I'll get well over 20 if I keep it to 65mph, and about 20 if I run at 70 on a trip. And you can pull a house with it at the drop of a hat (it's been done, a year of so a go - guy on here pulled a mobile home a mile or so)

I'll keep it for at least 10 years (350K miles at this pace).

the only problem my truck has is the auto trans they just don't hold up to the stock power
i have a dream that maybe someday i could go to the dealer and they will have aftermarket VB and TV already in the new trucks

Wouldn't trade for the world?

I am very happy with my truck and it would take a lot to get me to sell it. A few notes though - I am glad I opted to get the 5.9l instead of waiting for the 6.7l, too much emissions garbage. Also - I would recommend a manual transmission, less to worry about. Don't get me wrong, I am pleased so far with the performance of my 48Re, and I have had no problems with it, but if I did it again, I would probably buy manual.

Best truck I've ever owned. I wouldn't dream of parting with it.

I love mine. Not a single problem with 18,000+ miles on the clock. And if you like to tinker with your vehicles there is a ton of stuff you can do to these.

The only way I would get rid of it, is if I went into even deeper debt(dont pay a month or something), or my stepdad buys it from me, and lets me have his tacoma, but that probably wont happen. The only reason I would do it, is because in college, this payment is about to kill me.

My A/C doesn't work very good. And if you get the G-56 you can pretty much forget driving over the speed limit and still getting decent mileage. Other than that I have no complaints. And the seats kinda suck

Mine problem was very unusual the #2 piston rod bearing went on mine @13k. The dealer was great. took about 10 days and back on the road. No leaks no problems I am at 30k now and truck is pretty much broke in for the second time . I answered #2 (few problems) but I also plan on keeping for a long time... very happy.

Mine's been in a couple times for u-joints, and I've got at least one stick going bad that the dealers won't replace because it's "normal to smoke up to a minute on startup". AC compressor puked and blew it's guts into the condeser and lines when it was 2 months old. 3rd gear is getting tough to shift into, and there are no parts availiable for my transmission. The sheetmetal is paper thin, and so's the paint. I don't mind the seats as much as some on here. Plus as a Dodge owner, you'll be stuck dealing with Dodge dealers for service if something needs fixed. God help you there, because they sure won't.

Yeah I am going to check out this 03 next Friday. If I like it I am going to purchase it. What do you guys think, 2003 2500 4x4 quad cab, cummins H/O with a six speed, ranch hand front replacement, the truck has a clean carfax and is in perfect condition,80k miles. The guy is asking $23,500, does that sound right??
