question about 5" exhaust

Do all 5" systems available have a 4" downpipe? I was thinking of changing out my setup and wanted one that had a 5" downpipe if such a beast exists. Most of what I have seen has a 4" downpipe. Thanks.

Yeah, as far as I knew, they all have a 4 inch down pipe...that's what size the v-band clamp coming out of the stock elbow allows...

I thought the clamp was 4"...just though someone might have a downpipe that flares to 5" closer to the elbow.

Magnaflow is the same, only 4" for about 8-10", BUT the inside of the muffler is 4" or less(24" long) the entire inside length.

I just got mine today, havent opened the box yet but I was told it was a 5" down pipe. Why in the world would they send you a new down pipe if it was only 4"?

Couldnt they just build the new exhaust to come off the factory pipe?

I have yet to see a 5" down pipe for a "non-Cummins 600" motor. I guess changing the elbow after the turbo from a Cummins 600 motor would allow for a complete 5" system

Magnaflow on my truck is 4" flange and then 5" all the way back. You will probably have to use a downpipe off an 04.5 if you want a larger one. I have mine if your interested.
