Quad XZT & Roktec

Quad XZT & Roktec
Anyone have any issues running both of these? Been playing around with mine on the mileage tune and the 65hp tune. Doesnt seem to over detonate even with the roktec turned up all the way. Anyone have any experience?

I have used the Quad X2 Std with a Rokktech and no issue but I did not have the mileage tune loaded. Worked fine but I wouldn't pull with it on the mileage tune. Bad things happen with too much timing.

I guess the question is, how much timing can really be added with the XZT hooked up to the map and rail pressure sensors only? I know they can add some, but not sure how much. I would think you would probably be safe, but as Spooler said.. Too much timing can be a BAD THING.

I've been asking the same question and getting more confused with all the different answers. I have my Rokk turned up all the way, ( I believe is 3 degrees advanced). I downloaded the max mileage on setting #1 and tow with it and get no rattling or popping. I called Quadzilla customer tech support and was told the max mileage download would advance my timing 7 degrees, (I find that hard to believe) so I asked what if I keep it on setting #3 (65hp tow) oh that will advance your timing 7 degrees also. Now I know they are not going to give away their "TOP SECRET INFORMATION" and I don't expect them to, but just a straight answer would be nice, they also said, if it's not rattling too much it would be OK to tow. so now I'm even more confused. How about you call and let me know what they say, even send me a PM, I'd appreciate it, thanks.

My biggest concern is while I'm towing my 10,000lb 5er, so to date I've unplugged the Quad and have been only using the Rokk. Maybe I'll just sell the Quad and be done with it. I've never been looking to make big hp, only to improve my mileage.

7 degrees isn't a lot. Especially when the CR engines are heavily retarded from the factory for reducing NOx emissions compared to the older 24v and 12v engines.
I ran the Rokktech for a few years with the EZ. I did have to remove it after loading the SMARTY, since the SMARTY advances the timing by a pretty good amount. I experienced lot's of rattling, sounded like an old 12v on cold mornings.

You will be fine running both as long as you don't run the higher timing mileage tune. I ran my truck for a long time with the Rokktech and Quad Std with no timing rattle or ill effects at all. I also removed my Rokktech when I installed my Smarty.

Back to the original question, have you played with them while towing?

Yes, I have run them both on the max mileage download, while towing. Is that the "higher timing mileage tune" you speck of?

I was thinking you were looking for pretty much the same information that I was looking for, maybe mine while towing.

I dont care what i turn this thread into. I just want to know what peoples ideas are on running them together. Ive towed with mine on the mileage tune with the rok turned up..seemed fine to me? Is that what your asking.
My thinking is that the mileage tune an the 65hp tune add very similar if not identical timing.

Yes, just run it on the normal program or do not select Higher mileage tune one while towing. You should be fine as long as you don't have any timing rattle.
