push rod / cam follower

I am just looking for confirmation... according to the service manual I should be OK. The question is: Are the cam followers captured somehow so they stay aligned? I pulled a push tube (intake) straight out and I felt the tappet fall off. After I put the tube back in, it felt like everything re-seated. Is this OK? I just don't want to fire it up if something could be out of place.

Thanks,
