I took the dodge in to get a front end allignment today, the truck is pulling to the left when the steering wheel is centered. (You drive down the road with the wheel turned slightly to the right and let go the wheel returns to center and the truck pulls to the left.) During the allignment the mechanic put it on the machine and made sure everything was in spec, and gave me a print out of the readings that matched the oem settings, and he rotated the tires and drove it again, and that didnt help. So the truck still pulls towards the left. It is a definite pull to the left and not a wander. Any suggestions????

How long has it been doing this? Post the specs. More caster on 1 side will cause the truck to pull. I've had a radial pull in both front tires & swapping the wouldn't fix it. Shop blamed everything else. Also had a shop print 1 set of specs. I drove 800 mi with a terrible wander, put it on another machine & spesc were way different than 1st machine. Firestone has lifetime warranty for $140 out the dood & good as long as you own the truck.

The steering has always wandered, i took it to the dodge dealer and they told me i needed a new track bar, i put a new moog one on about 4 months ago and then it started pulling to the left. The mechanic noted today that the steering was tight for a ram truck.

Front Camber: L 0.1 deg. R 0.1 deg
Caster L 2.5 deg. R 2.9 deg
Toe L .04 deg. R .02 deg

Total toe .06 deg
Steer Ahead .01 deg

The place where i got it alligned will work with me to get it fixed, they just need some different ideas to try. My tires are worn and they had a set of 285/75R16 BF TA Ko's they could put on, they said if new tires didnt work they would let me return them and go back to my ones now. Should i try that, or do ya think, looking at the specs above, it is something else?

Tires can definately make a diff in overall handling. I noticed a big diff going from the Goodyear MTRs to BFG AT. I would make sure to get things aligned prior to as you don't want to eat thru a set of BFGs and have to buy more. Some say the calipers can stick causing pull...you may want to check and make sure they retract freely when off the brakes.

You could have a caliper dragging on the rotor. Get an Infra-red temp. gun, Go for a drive and check both side. If one is hotter than the other on the side its pulling, that could also be your problem.

Yeah i didnt think of the brake calipers, ill check that out. I went ahead with the 285 bfg KO's today to try them out, They are really really nice, quiet, ride very well, and don't throw the rocks! They seemed to help out the pulling to the left, it still does it a little on some roads, but i think thats probably normal. The tire/alignment place said they had to align to the factory specs so that they do not void any warranties, but they said if the dodge dealer had any new up to date info the tire dealer would align it to those specs free of charge. Yeah, I dont need to be chewing through $$$ tires i have a $$$ college bill to chew on already!

"BULL DURAM" on their void any warranties statement. Sounds like too innocent of alignment to figure and fix problems. In the "green" is not gonna fix some issues.
