well i found a 2nd gen intercooler out of an 02 for $100 and a Powerstroke intercooler out of a 99-01for $125. So which one is better? Which one would cool better and flow better? Which one would be easier to fit? thanks

I think the ps unit is a little bigger. They both seem to require about the same amount of fuss to install. Make sure the ps unit doesn't have plastic tanks...

I've been thinking the same thing. Is there much cutting involved for either one. And how much boost will they handle?

the second gen one will handle more boost i beleive either way you are going to have to do some serious moding to get this to work

I put my PS in my non ic truck in about 4 1/5 hours by myself. I did not put the ac back in it tho. When I do the crew I plan on using a ic rad support and making sure everything is back together. I noticed a 200* drop while driving after the install.

what about the 3rd gen intercooler. ive heard of a few people with that.

as far as i know you need to chop the frame for the third gen ic because it is so much taller.

You do have to chop the frame off and they are HUGH. Here is a pic of G1625S's 89 with a 3rd gen ic in it. Alot of work in my opinion but it can be done.
