PS fluid options
I want to change my power steering fluid. It whines really bad in cold weather and affects the breaks. Was looking around, one suggestion i had was to use good hydraulic oil made for snow plows, it is made for cold weather. What you guys think???

I've used Bardahl synthetic power steering fluid from Crappy Tire. 3 flushes and no more power steering whine, even at -37 C. Expensive though, $11.00 for 500 ml.

D@mn...that's not cheap. Even though they say not to, I may try synthetic ATF. My power steering and brakes start acting up and screaming colder than -15c. That is probably harder on the system than ATF could possibly be.

ATF used to be the fluid of choice for power steering pumps and, I believe, it is again for 3rd gen Dodges. Why is the 2nd gen so darned special that we need to have special fluid?

Lubegard did my steering pump a world of good! I did the full routine with the flush additive (white bottle) then new fluid with the other additive that you leave in. (purple bottle) The pump works a little better and stopped whining entirely. I was impressed!
