prostreet 66 problems

hey guys haven't been on here in a while so i did a search and found nothing so i thought i wopuld post this and see if i could get some feed back fom ya. well here is what i got the prostreet 66 with 71mm turbine i bought it back in october maybe put around 6,000 miles on it since and now it is broke. now don't get me wrong this thing kicks edit it spools fast and hits 50 psi as fast as you can shift but it i just thought it would have lasted a lot longer than it did. this truck is may daily driver not a drag truck all i have is the smarty and tst hooked up. i run smarty on 8 and the tst on 2x3 early twins any higher and i get fuel pop real bad, but even at this setting i never see any thing hotter than 1350 degrees. so i don't see how i could have cooked it but anyway i seen some white smoke and that scratch noise of the impeller rubing the houseing that some of us have heard, so i parked it in the garage pulled off the intake hose and it has atleast 1/16 of an inch of movement on the thrust bearing and alot up and down. so i though would see if anyone on here has seen premature wear on this turbo because of it being new and not ballanced right or something. i beleive high tech gives a 1 year warrenty on this turbo so when i call them tommorrow i will know for sure so hopefully i am ok. but any info from you guys would help thanks

eric

I haven't heard or seen any problems with the ProStreet or 71 series for that matter yet. I know there were a couple problems with the SledPuller but nothing to bad. I am not sure what would cause this as I am at a higher level and mine is fine.

Your not going to find an s300 variant that lasts on a hot 3rd gen for very long.
My SPS66 lasted 6 months before it needed a rebuild. Whitesport600 on this site also burned through a couple Sledpuller 66 turbos in short order if memories serves me right.

You might consider stepping up to something like an Aurora 5000 from ATS they seem to last alot longer with heavily modified trucks. Not trying to tell you what to do or anything but I have been there done that with S300's.
