Check this out. Uses Diesel to light the CNG/LNG, could probably be set up for propane. Anybody with a propane system know how much propane you run compared to how much CNG/LNG this thing can stand?

Edit: I don't know why I can't get the G-D link to work right, >but if you look under engine info/specs, then current engines, then dual-fuel, you'll see what I mean. I'm computer literate, but just barely, I guess. :P

What it saying is that it uses Diesel/CNG-LNG to take off then when coasting on the highway it uses CNG-LNG. Bascily like add a 200 shot of LP to your truck and taking some of the Diesel away. Its like 50/50. The thing is that CNG-LNG is heck of alot cleaner and doesnt blow smoke. I know the PSD's can handle aleast a 200 shot of LP. I wonder if our trucks can run CNG-LNG?

No Diesel/Propane/LNG injected motors have spark plugs its either heating grid (CTD) or Glowplugs (Ford&amp;Chevy). Its all done by Compressed ignition. Even if it has a lower compression ratio than normal.

Anybody have a clue how little compression it takes to keep our engines running? Can 10.5:1 still ignite diesel?<br> Tony

It will all depend on the intake air temp and the fuel atomization. For diesel fuel to ignite it takes a minimuim of 450 degrees Farenheit. If you didn't run an intercooler and coudl really get a super fine spray from the injectors, then it &quot;MIGHT&quot; be enough, but only after the engine got warm.

If you read these articles by Bruce Mallinson, on big Cummins motors he drops the compression down to 14:1, cranks up the boost and fuel and retards the timing. He's going for million-mile longevity in class 8 trucks while making 2500 ft/lbs of torque, so his goals are a bit different than ours.
