Talking prolonging dying vp44

hi guys,is there any way to prolong the life of a dying vp44?mine has the death code and has been giving me the"dead pedal"almost daily.i got rid of the comp and have been taking it easy on it,i have had good luck with the smarty on #8 with no timing,{no dead pedal in almost 2 days}im checking into getting it rebuilt or finding a used one,im planning on selling the truck and getting a 3rd gen, dont want it to leave me stranded on the highway somwhere, thanx dave

VP44? What's that? Something from one of those newer engines with too many valves and too little reliability?

Only thing I have heard is that if the truck wont start, and you cant roll start it, Pour a glass of cold water on the pump, and then try it.

Do yo have the P0216 code. I've had that one for quite some time now. Onhe thing you may want to do is start running some biodiesel. I have been running b100 as much as possible. Even b20 will help keep the vp44 healthier than ULSD (IMO). Right after I started running the ULSD, all kinds of problems showed up in my truck. I've had none with the bio.
