Programers / tuners?

i am looking to put a chip into my truck an i was wondering which ones i should towards getting? i don't have really any upgrades in my truck other than exhaust and cold air intake. i have looked at the edge juice but thats pretty pricey. i want one that has an economy, towing, and power mode that'll give me different amounts of hp at the three different stages and that'll give me sum smoke on the stages. What is one of the best ones i can get? thanks

The edge juice/attitude combo does seem expensive at first but after pricing out EGT, Boost, Fuel Press. gauges and a chip that'll put out 120hp you'd be spending way more than the edge list price.

As for your tranny, I only drive on level 1 and turn it up to 4 to pass on the highway. That being said, however, I'm now looking at a valve body and torque converter because I'm going to get 110hp injectors and a bigger turbo. I'm aiming for 450hp @ the rear wheels. I'm now addicted to power and want more. Driving with that much restraint knowing that there is 120hp sitting there that your tranny can't handle is really, really hard! Good luck.

I have the Quad XZT+ and works very well for my needs. I don't drag race, but it does have a mileage setting which I get 1-2 mpg more if I keep it at 65 mph. The extra 65 HP on the power side does help when towing 10,000lbs so I have no complaints.

I'll agree a great programmer when used w/the commander. There's really kind of a preferred order in which to take when upgrading mainly to help protect from destruction.
1. gauges - egt, fuel pressure, boost, tranny
2. fuel pump upgrade of some kind - FASS, Glacier, etc
3. exhaust - 4" minimum, ATS manifold M59-24
4. intake - AFE, BHAF, etc
5. injectors - Mach 1.6, RV275, etc
6. electronics - Smarty, Edge, TST, etc
7. Tranny valve body upgrade
8. turbo and larger injectors
9. head work

just a general guideline and kind of the route I'm taking...some items can be combined ex. 1 & 6. Most of all build it the way you'll drive it and enjoy it the most.
