Asking that on this forum will get the majority recommending Smarty, including myself. Initially I had(have) Edge Hot Juice with Attitude monitor. Juice is disconnected under the hood right now in favor of Smarty.

After Smarty, I'd probably try the PPE.

^^^What he said on the smarty, plus any other cummins/dodge forum will have the majority on the smarty.

I started with bullydog pmt w/cl. and that did it's job for awhile til I wanted more power. With what's in my sig., ran the bdpmt then switched to the tnt/r and a pretty big diff. so I kept with the smarty and sold the pmt. Like I stated, wanted more power.

Gotta tell ya though, used to hate seeing all the cheerleaders for smarty. I finally gave in and tried it out and have never looked back.

Better not have just a stock trans. on any programmer though. Yeah you can run on low settings of power but why get a power enhancer if you don't use the full potential....I get better mpg on the kill settings as long as I keep my foot out of it.

I wiped out my stock trans. with just the pmt and no cl tune., in matter of a few wks.

Another vote for the smarty. I had a hot edge, and it was good for me till abouit 500 hp, after that, the smarty was my best bet.

Bully dog is not a bad programmer either, but I'd go with the smarty.

Welcome to the DTR.

Once you try a SMARTY, it would be hard to go any other way...

programer

Just got my first diesel 06 5.9 mega cab

Looking for economy and slight performance improvment.

There is a local guy selling a Bully dog power pup for $225 will this void the warranty and is this a good unit.

I am getting 17.5 city and 23 hyway driving easy, can a programer improve this?

If set for more power would the fuil consumption go up from stock?

thanks

If it's a Triple Dog Power Pup llike mine it's a great unit, you can download Crazy Larry and have tons of power and change lotsa programming, highs with fogs, power delay etc.
If it's JUST a Power Pup it will not add much power but be easier on your tranny if it's an auto.

I get my best MPG's running everything stock.

Any Programmer wil void your warrany if they find any traced of it with their scanner. The Smarty people say their's cannot be traced but I think a real nerdy techno mechanic would probly find something if he looked hard enough.

Smarty.

Nuff said.

Really, Smarty by Mads Electronics. Just look at the Dodge specific products they have. That's their main focus. Also search for Bob Wagner on this forum. You can see the customer support vs Edge, Quadzilla and others. Quadzilla used to be here all the time and recently hasn't been around. I did a lot of searching for low end power and looked at a lot of posted dyno charts. Looks like Smarty makes the most down low.
