Problems with DiabloSport Extreme Power Puck and Towing

I picked up a 30 ft Coachman yesterday. It only weighs 6400 lbs so no big deal towing it home, so I THOUGHT. Picked it up in Lansing, MI and started the drive back home with no problems. As soon as we got on the freeway I noticed the truck seems down on power. After a couple miles it starts bucking and surging. I had to floor it to get up to 55 mph. Pulled off the rode and unplugged the Quadzilla Scout from the OBD 2 port just in case. Same problem when we got back on the road. We pulled off at the next exit and I started getting into panic mode thinking about all the things that could be wrong. The next step was to unplug the DiabloSport. Viola! Problem solved. The truck ran like a champ and cruised up to 70 without even a hiccup. The next step will be a Extreme Power Puck going on Craigslist.

Why would you sell a faulty product to a fellow CTD owner?

The XPP either works or it doesn't. It does not know if you are towing or not. I would venture to say that you may have other issues that were just bought out by the XPP/towing combo. The truck ran perfectly fine without the trailer back there?
Glad you made it home OK. That's always the first thing I check when I have performance issues is the power adders..

I don't recall saying the Diablo was faulty. The truck ran perfectly fine with out the 5th wheel hooked up.

If it was bucking and carrying on then it should have thrown some codes. Did you check for those?

From what i read from your post, the diablosport, extreme power puck is faulty.. it doesnt matter if the truck is loaded or unloaded when it runs like crap and you unplug it and viola problem solved, sounds to me like its faulty.

I too would say faulty programmer, and would want to know for sure before I just ditched it.

If there is indeed no fault with the XPP then I would surely be lookin hard to determine what made my truck fall flat on it's face.

Just my couple of pennies.
