what is the problem?
I am looking at an 2001 to purchase and am not as familiar as i am with the CR engines. The guy says that at about 2500-3k rpms that it starts cutting out, he says that he will take it to a diesel shop and see how much it will cost to fix and take that off the purchase price. I am thinking that it might be the injector pump but dont know. Thanks

The lift pump is right below/beside the fuel filter on the driver side. it is strongly suggested that a fuel pressure gauge be install on your truck if it doesn't already have . There's lots of post on this subject.

It's hard for me to remember, but I think these trucks defuel heavy at around 2800 rpms in stock form. But as said earlier, check lift pump and fuel pressure.
