Pro Comp Shocks
Has anyone purchased any Pro Comp shocks? I purchased a set of there ES9000 shocks and boots for my truck. They do not fit properly as the shocks do not fill up the shock mounting brackets and rattle around when you hit a bump. You can not get them tight enough to not rattle. Any suggestions?

You might try some rubber bushings on each side to make up the space or washers, but I'm not sure that's very safe. I know you've already made the purchase, but Bilstiens are the way to go. Sorry!

I've got the Tuff Country ones, and I'm pretty sure they are the EXACT same make as the Pro Comps. They are also the 9000 series. I know that they make all kinds of popping noises and the back ones wouldn't fit at all. I had to do some fabricating and make my own bolt sleeves. They also squeak really bad on the back upper mounts. I'm installing the Bilstein 5100's today...

I had this problem on the '01 3/4 ton Ram, took me forever to figure out what it was. I used a couple of washers and that fixed it right up. Not one problem anymore and it didn't hurt anything...

I just installed the Bilstein 5100's. MAN this thing rides like a caddy compared to the Tuff Country's. It actually rides BETTER than stock!!! And dead silent. No popping whatsoever.

What do the 5100's look like? Not that I just go by the look of a shock, but I don't really want a yellow shocks under there. Seems that they looked like satin or chromish color in the magazines...

They are zinc coated (satin looking) with black boots. VERY high quality. By far the best looking nicest built shock I've ever seen, and guaranteed not to rust. The white Tuff Country's were already starting to chip and rust on my truck after about 6k miles and no salt on the roads. I've never had it down gravel roads or in the mud... Not impressive!

I just ordered a set of Bilstiens, and talked to foourl wheel parts and we had a conference call to Pro Comp. The Pro Comp tech admitted they had a problem with the shocks on some trucks and our Dodges were one of them. He said theyer shocks were not made for specific vehicles but made to fit a wide variety of vehicles, adn wanted to send me some different hardware to put on the mounts. After a little more complaining the guy at four wheel parts agreed to give me a refund, so I ordered a set of Bilstiens.

kind of related .... I see a lot of folks talking about replacing shocks when they install the leveling kits, too bad no one makes a 2 inch relocating kit for the shock, it would suk to own a nice set of bilsteins and have to toss em due to topping out probs after a leveling kit.

Just put some Monroe Reflex shocks on the Durango. I like them so much I'm considering a set for the Ram. They're about half the cost of Bilsteins. Don't know if they'll last half as long but they're great now...
